From Project Manager to iOS Developer: Leap into iOS Development

With a solid 15-year tenure in IT and over seven years in project management, I've spent a considerable portion of my career bringing others' visions to life. But as I stand at the crossroads of my professional journey, I've decided to pave a new path for myself.

This year, 2024, is the year I don the hat of a developer, embarking on a solo mission to create my own iOS app from the ground up. With a self-allotted timeline of one year and a budget of $20,000, I am diving into the world of app development. This is not just a challenge but an opportunity to discover if this passion can evolve into a viable career.

In this blog, I'm committing to an open book policy. You’ll get a front-row seat to my weekly progress, from conceptualizing the app to mastering Swift, crafting the UX, and judiciously utilizing my budget. Success is the goal, but the possibility of failure is real and part of the journey.

Over my 15 years in the field, I’ve amassed a wealth of knowledge about project management, teamwork, and the power of data-driven decision-making. As an introvert, I’ve always relied on data to guide my choices, and I'm eager to share these insights with you through my posts.

If this journey resonates with you, I invite you to join me. It promises to be an insightful exploration of what it means to transition from managing to creating, from following to leading.

Keep an eye out for my next post, where I'll delve deeper into the reasons behind my switch to iOS development.
