Globe Particle Cloud iN Power BI using Deneb and Vega-Lite

Have you ever wanted to create visually stunning, interactive visualizations in ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—•๐—œ that go beyond the ordinary? In my latest YouTube video, I demonstrate how to build an interactive Earth particle cloud map using ๐——๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฏ and ๐—ฉ๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ฎ-๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ.

โœ… ๐—ช๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚โ€™๐—น๐—น ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ป:

โ€ข How to map airport locations globally using latitude and longitude.

โ€ข Configuring orthographic projections for a rounded, Earth-like view.

โ€ข Adding dynamic sliders for user interactivity.

๐Ÿ’ก But did you know there are ๐—น๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€ with Deneb (the certified version) when it comes to mapping?

Here are a few challenges to consider:

1. Limited external data source supportโ€”custom map files are not supported (for certified visual).

2. Limited set of native custom maps for advanced geographic customizations.

3. Most map projections are 2D, with orthographic being the only Earth-like option.

4. Visual sizing issuesโ€”sliders often require manual adjustments to avoid scrollbars.

5. Interactivity relies heavily on predefined sliders and parameters, which can feel restrictive.

Despite these limitations, there are still possibilities for creating ๐™š๐™ฎ๐™š-๐™˜๐™–๐™ฉ๐™˜๐™๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ, ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง๐™–๐™˜๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ซ๐™š dashboards with ๐——๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฏ.
